Actors’ Equity Association
Actors’ Equity Association (AEA or Equity), founded in 1913, is the labor union that represents more than 48,000 Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Equity seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society. Equity negotiates wages and working conditions and provides a wide range of benefits, including health and pension plans, for its members. Actors’ Equity is a member of the AFL-CIO and is affiliated with FIA, an international organization of performing arts unions.
Americans for the Arts
Americans for the Arts is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. With forty-five years of service, they are dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts.

Theatre Communications Group
Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for the American theatre, strengthens nurtures and promotes the professional not-for-profit American theatre. TCG seeks to increase the organizational efficiency of its member theatres, cultivate the artistic talent and celebrate the achievements of the field and enhance public understanding and appreciation of theatre.
Theatre Bay Area
Theatre Bay Area’s (TBA) mission is to unite, strengthen and promote the theatre in the San Francisco Bay Area, working on behalf of its conviction that the performing arts are an essential public good, critical to a healthy and truly democratic society and invaluable as a source of personal enrichment and growth.
The Arts Alliance
The Arts Alliance is a coalition of arts organizations that was founded in 2003 as a forum to discuss and respond to specific challenges related to mid-sized arts organizations of varying art forms and ethnicity in our community and to devise solutions. The Arts Alliance is recognized by the City of San Jose’s Office of Cultural Affairs and Arts Commission.
